We will use the data you input into our web forms to contact you about your enquiry and to engage in a professional relationship with you. When you input data into our forms your consent to our contact is assumed as a legitimate interest in our business.

If you become our customer then we will have a contractual obligation to contact you and will need to use your personal data. We may in some instances require additional personal information from you, to be able to meet our contractual obligations.

If you have become a customer after enquiring with us we may maintain a professional relationship with you after work has been completed. As your prior interests suggest a legitimate interest in using our services again. This may mean a quick catch up email or phone call to see if you require our services, or a follow up to an enquiry that has been placed on hold for a given period of time. This does not breach your data protection rights, but if you do not wish for us to contact you in this way please inform us and we will not do so. Though, we will never add you to our email lists unless you give explicit consent.

If you agree to sign up to our mailing list we will also use your data to send you emails relating to the Song Cabin, and our products and services. You can unsubscribe from these lists at any time.

If you consent to our marketing emails we may use information such as your ‘enquiry type’ to target our emails to your interests.

We will not share your personal data with anyone who is not a part of the Song Cabin. And, will only share your data with those who are going to need it to continue our professional relationship with you.

For example, if you contact us about requiring a song critique, we will then share your data with the best person on our team to provide you with this service.

Some members of the Song Cabin live outside of the UK, and in these instances, we may forward contact information such as email address, name, and enquiry type, to these members of the Song Cabin. This will be forwarded through secure mail servers. This would only be for the instance of working with you and never for marketing purposes.

How do we store your data?

We have taken extra steps to store our customer’s data in a secure manner and use secure software that is GDPR compliant to do so.

How long will we keep your data?

We will keep your data as long as we need to communicate with you about your inquiry. We will also keep data to follow up on enquiries either for a period of time specified by your self (i.e. you say that you are looking for the work in six months, then we will keep your data for this period and then contact you). In these instances, we will never keep your data for longer than one year.

With our marketing lists we will keep active subscribers (those who open, click and engage with our content) indefinitely or until they become non-active. Non-active subscribers will be kept on our marketing lists for up to a year and a half and then removed.

Marketing and consent

To reiterate, we will only add your data to our email marketing lists if you have explicitly given your permission. We choose to do a ‘double opt-in’ to ensure that you definitely wish to sign up and receive our emails.
